All of the paint and old covering is removed from the cabinet. There were multiple cracks, some running the full length of the sides, which had to be glued and clamped overnight.
Because the inside of the cabinet was painted, I had to sand down to the bare wood. A coat of stain was applied to give the inside an aged patina. Luckily, I was able to keep the all-important tube chart in tact.

Next, Fender tweed was applied, then the tweed was sprayed with an amber tinted lacquer to give an aged look.  The correct grill cloth was installed along with the proper period hardware and the cabinet was ready for the chassis and speaker.

...Now the amp is ready for another 50 years of service!
